We are proud to have restored numerous historic racing cars and iconic classics, many of which have featured in leading motoring publications and competed on renowned racetracks around the world. Our highly skilled team of experienced panel beaters and paint technicians combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to achieve outstanding results.

Our bodywork process begins with the complete removal of paint, filler and underseal through glass or plastic bead blasting, allowing a thorough inspection of the bare metal shell. This enables us to accurately assess corrosion and determine the minimum number of replacement panels required, preserving as much original material as possible. Where panels cannot be saved, we source genuine or high-quality reproduction parts, or fabricate new panels in-house to original specifications. Rebuilding is carried out using advanced water-cooled spot and TIG welding, with all panels treated in anti-corrosive primer to ensure long-term protection. Precise panel fitting and alignment follows, creating perfect body gaps before the shell moves to paint preparation.

In our paintshop, corrosion prevention is paramount. The bare shell is fully sealed with epoxy resin primers and baked in our custom low-bake oven. Panels are then refined, primed and prepared to create the perfect foundation for paint. We use LECHLER coatings, mixing all colours in-house using solvent-based technology, supported by advanced colour-matching software with over 30,000 historic and modern shades. Clients may choose an original factory colour, a bespoke finish, or even a carefully developed patina effect.

The final stages include multi-layer clear coating, extensive polishing and rigorous inspection. From minor accident repairs to full body shell rebuilds, race car preparation and bespoke paint schemes, Kingswell Coachworks delivers uncompromising quality, ensuring every vehicle leaves our workshop only when we are completely satisfied it exceeds our client’s expectations.
