Derek Chinn Precision Engineering is a small well established engineering firm specialising in repairs to engine components and to supercharger rebuilds for motorcycles, classic cars, and drag racers. We are familiar with all makes including Shorocks, Marshall, Cozete, Zoller & Wade.

They started manufacturing DC Superchargers which have been fitted to a wide range of . these Superchargers are fitted to various classic cars in the Vintage Sports Car Club Riley They also specialise in pre-war Alta engines and superchargers as well as Supercharger Installation and Blower Drive Couplings. Superchargers for Maserati, Alfa, ERA, Bugatti type 35, MG K3, MG Z75 & Z100 are manufactured by Derek Chinn as well as Vincent engine components and engine modifications and the manufacture of Bugatti Steering arms, brake pedals and related components.

The superchargers specifications can be found on the website but some distinguishing points include:-

1. Capacities from 900cc to 3500cc are ideal for upto to 4 litre’s and can be supplied to order – featuring 2, 3 or 4 lobe rotors machined from billet HE-15 aluminium with 25mm steel shafts running through the length of the rotors.
2. Steel helical rotor gears emersed in an oil bath for increased reliability.
3. Double row ball bearings are employed on the drive shaft with double lip neoprene seals.
4. To increase installation, the end housings also incorporate sensible size mounting lugs with manifold and gear case bolt patterns drilled to customers instructions.

In view of the vast range of applications where superchargers can be fitted Installation or blower drive kits are not supplied. But we are happy to quote for “one-off” installations, drives and all other accessories.
